Sector Strategies:  Creating a Common Vocabulary
Sector strategies have gained momentum during the last decade.  They are having a tremendous impact by increasing employer engagement and enhancing an understanding of what jobs will look like in the future and the skill sets they will require for success.  The Industry Competency Model Initiative, led by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA), supports sector strategies by providing a framework for their development at the regional, state of local level.  This case study features Geospatial Technology, Renewable Energy and Information Technology industries to highlight the range of sectors that the CMC supports.  http://www.careeronestop.org/CompetencyModel/Info_Documents/
