About Us
|
Key to Career Success Web site is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor through
the CareerOneStop project as part of the department's assistance to service members,
military families, employers and the workforce staff serving them. Much of the content
in Key to Career Success is based on U.S. Department of Labor-sponsored resources
and has been customized to meet the needs of recently separated military personnel.
These resources include:
-
CareerOneStop, a comprehensive, national Web site that helps job seekers, employers,
students and workforce professionals find employment and career resources. It includes
America's Career InfoNet and America's
Service Locator.
- The Office of Workforce Investment provides national leadership,
oversight, policy guidance, and technical assistance to the One-Stop public employment
service system, and the youth and adult employment and training programs funded
under the Workforce Investment Act. It oversees the development and implementation
of the nation's labor market information system.
- The
Occupational Information Network (O*NET) is a comprehensive database of worker
attributes and job characteristics.
The Key to Career Success Web site helps people find resources
for life after service. Four sections focus on critical areas:
- Find a Job provides links to tools for
preparing for and finding work, and career exploration.
- Plan Education and Training gives
information for those considering post-secondary education, getting vocational credentials,
or job training.
- Transition to Civilian
Life is a clearinghouse of resources to help recently separated service members
find local services to help with financial, emotional, family and other topics.
- Disabled/Injured
Resources provides information for service members and their families affected
by service-related injuries.
