SWOT Analysis

A comprehensive analysis of regional Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats that directly affect strategy development. The analysis should thoroughly consider a region's attributes including existing assets, natural resources, current business climate, and demographics, such as educational attainment levels of workers in the region. Additionally, regions should evaluate existing infrastructures (physical, virtual, governmental, and educational) and cultural nuances (collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship) that will be critical to success.

  • Catalogue of Workforce Information Sources - This is a guide of available federal resources, including service descriptions, resource, and contact information for government workforce and economic development programs.
  • Asset Mapping Roadmap Guide - Find information about asset mapping, and the links to several asset mapping tools.
  • Industries and Occupations - Find those with the largest employment.
  • Wages by Occupation and Local Area - Compare the wages of one occupation to similar occupations in areas within the same state or in adjacent states.
  • Wages by Occupation and Metropolitan Area - Compare the wage range of an occupation in different areas around the country.
  • Compare Employment Trends by Occupation - Compare the growth or decline in employment of an occupation with similar occupations.
  • Employment Trends by Industry and Occupation - Find projected employment changes for occupation and industry at the national level.
