      Certification Description
      The Adolescent Medicine Certification Program is jointly developed by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The exam is administered to candidates from all three Boards at the same time in the same testing centers. ABP is responsible for administering the exam. To become certified in the subspecialty of Adolescent Medicine, physicians must: -At the time of application, maintain current, valid ABIM certification in either Internal Medicine or a subspecialty -Satisfactorily complete the requisite graduate medical education fellowship training -Demonstrate clinical competence, and moral and ethical behavior in the clinical setting -Hold a valid, unrestricted and unchallenged license to practice medicine -Pass the Adolescent Medicine Certification Examination
