Disaster unemployment assistance

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) provides financial assistance until people can return to their jobs or resume their customary self-employment.

You may qualify for benefits if you're out of work due to a federally declared disaster.

DUA provides financial assistance to individuals whose employment or self-employment has been lost or interrupted as a direct result of a major disaster declared by the President of the United States and who are not eligible for regular unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. Note that you must file for regular Unemployment Insurance before you can file for DUA.
