Continuing education sample
Employers value seeing a commitment to learning, so this section is important. If you haven't taken a class lately, look for one in your field. There are many free webinars and other online training if cost is a barrier. Here is Beth’s continuing education section:
Beth chose to:
- use the heading “Professional Development.” Other options could be “Advanced Training,” “Project Management Training,” or “Additional Coursework.”
- lead with the most important credential, her Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation. The credential is more important than the date order.
- only list the most recent and relevant courses taken. She deleted trainings that peg her in her old role, like Microsoft Word.
- use precise language to describe the courses, including the full name of the application. Helps both both for credibility and keyword searching, used by applicant tracking systems.
