Purpose To provide schureman scholarship program.
Focus Dentistry; Law; Medicine; Nursing.
Qualifications Applicants must be residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Monroe, Livingston, Washtenaw, or St. Clair counties at the time of high school graduation; must demonstrate strong scholastic performance while in high school or college with an equivalent of a 3.0 grade point average; must be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree in the fields of law, nursing, medicine or dentistry; candidates must apply to or be admitted to one of the 15 nonprofit, public universities in Michigan as a full-time student; full-time enrollment at one of these 15 educational institutions is required.
Criteria Applicants will be evaluated based on demonstrate leadership and character through extracurricular activities, service in school and community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience; candidates between the ages of 17-27 at the time of application and to those pursuing full-time education; must demonstrate financial need.
Funds $7,500
Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Up to 10.
To Apply Candidates must provide a written personal statement that describes his or her educational plans; and career goals, and motivating factors and important experiences which have helped to shape your personal philosophy and future goals; applicants must demonstrate financial need by the completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Aid) online at; a copy of the online FAFSA application must be submitted to the community foundation for Southeast Michigan as part of the online; application process to determine the financial need of the applicant.
