Purpose: The Dannon Company is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the recently expanded 2016-2017 Gut Microbiome, Yogurt and Probiotics Dannon Fellowship Grant. The grant offers a unique educational opportunity for two individuals in undergraduate, graduate or post-doctoral studies who show a strong interest in the research of the gut microbiome’s impact on human health and well-being and/or the nutritional and functional benefits of yogurt and probiotics. Each winner will receive a grant of $25,000, payable to their educational institutions, for their tuition or research-related projects. Furthermore, Dannon Fellows are connected to each other through this scholarship, encouraging collaboration, communication, and future opportunity in the field. We are proud to support future generations of researchers and scientists.

James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program
Organization: James Beard Foundation

Purpose: The James Beard Foundation Scholarship program was established to assist aspiring and established culinary professionals who plan to further their education at a licensed or accredited culinary school or food-focused program. 

To apply, students must be high school seniors or graduates planning to start or continue a course of study at a licensed or accredited culinary school or food-focused program in the 2018-2019 academic year. Additional eligibility requirements may apply for some of the James Beard Foundation scholarships. Students complete one application to be considered for all James Beard Foundation scholarships for which one meets the criteria.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship for Cancer Survivors
Organization: Scholarship America

Purpose: The Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship for Cancer Survivors program was created to assist cancer survivors who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded to up to 25 qualified students. Applicants must be cancer survivors (diagnosed by a physician as having treatment of cancer and survived), age 25 and under, who are high school seniors or graduates or postsecondary undergraduates. Qualified applicants must plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire 2018-19 academic year. They must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Scholarships will be awarded based on applicants’ academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, personal impact statement and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
